Temp Bar Manager

Seeking a skilled Bar Manager for a dynamic role in Oxford College. Personal licence and UK work authorisation essential, along with proven bar management expertise.

Responsibilities:

– Operate the Bar in compliance with the Licensing Act 2003, ensuring adherence to its four objectives.

– Account for bar takings and maintain accurate sales records.

– Manage bar stock, including ordering supplies at advantageous prices and maintaining order records.

– Assist in organizing College events such as Bops, Balls, and special functions, ensuring smooth bar operations.

– Maintain a professional, friendly, and welcoming environment for students, guests, and conference attendees.

– Supervise casual bar staff and ensure coverage in case of staff absence.

– Ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and maintenance of the bar area.

– Operate the bar till for transactions, including student credit/debit card, app, or cash sales.

– Attend management meetings as required.

– Report to the Conference and Catering Manager and/or Domestic Bursar.

Additional Duties:

– Fulfill other responsibilities requested by the Conference and Catering Manager and/or Domestic Bursar as commensurate with the post’s grade and responsibilities.
